Longyu Gu
IMFG Graduate Fellow
Longyu Gu is the recipient of the Blanche and Sandy Van Ginkel Graduate Fellowship in Municipal Finance and Governance. He is a second-year student in the Masters of Science in Planning program at the University of Toronto's Department of Geography and Planning. He has previously worked as a GIS technician and interned in land use planning with the Ontario Public Service. His research interests concern new developments in economic policies such as land-based financing and regional industrial development. His masters-level research focuses on the institutional behaviour of the development charges system in Ontario's municipalities, analyzing its decision-making processes, market impacts, and planning equity implications.
