Big City, Big Ideas: Planning the Big Event

February 27, 2013 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

As we count down to the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Para-Pan Am Games, what are the lessons from other cities which welcomed the world? How can new venues and infrastructure be planned to maximize community benefits and reduce disruption? What happens after the big event? Jason Prior is the master designer of the London Olympics and designer for the Rio Olympics. He shared his emerging vision for Rio along with his experience transforming an underdeveloped area of East London into a host site for the Games. Jason Prior serves as chief executive of Buildings + Places at AECOM, a global provider of professional technical and management support services.

The session was moderated by Mike Williams, General Manager, Economic Development, City of Toronto.
